Chairman's Welcome Speech
The Honourable Chief Judge of Kwara State and Justices of the High Court here present, the Grand Khadi of Sharia Court of Appeal, Kwara State and other khadis of the Sharia Court of Appeal here present, the Attorney General, Kwara State, Learned Senior Advocates of Nigeria here present, Senior members of the Bar, Past Branch Chairmen of our Branch, Chairmen, MULAN, CLASFON, FIDA, YLF, esteemed colleagues, invited Guests, Members of the third estate of the realm, ladies and gentlemen.
I stand before you today with a heart filled with gratitude and humility as I accept the honour and responsibility of serving as the chairman of our great Branch, Ilorin Bar. I want to firstly give glory to Almighty Allah for making today a reality and I will continue thanking Him for the rare opportunity. The unopposed nature of my candidature fills me with a profound sense of honour and privilege, knowing that, there are other credible and capable candidates. My sole candidacy that led to my emergence as Chairman is as a result of love, respect and understanding within the Ilorin branch.
I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to lead this esteemed branch, and I am humbled by the unanimous support and confidence you have shown in me. Your overwhelming endorsement propels me forward with a renewed sense of purpose and determination to fulfil the responsibilities of the position of Chairman to the best of my ability. I want to express my sincere appreciation to the elders and members of the Nigerian Bar Association, Ilorin Branch, for your unwavering support and belief in my capabilities. Your trust in me will motivate me to work tirelessly towards the betterment of our branch and the legal community as a whole.
